There is a lot of talk about what is the actual Tesla Powerwall price of the battery. The original Powerwall was around $3,500 and the newer Powerwall 2 is around $5,500. While these are roughly the base price of the unit. The actual installation price will vary. This is were the confusion comes in. Each solar system is unique therefore there can not be a set price for powerwall installation. Yes you will need an electrician to come out and evaluate your system and have them figure out what you need to have the powerwall installed correctly.
We all know that the electrician's price will vary but know this that Tesla powerwall solar battery price or base is going to be about the same. The variance here is the installation price. Depending upon how your system is designed set up. Also remember that Tesla is not the only game in town. There are a lot of solar battery manufactures out there to choose from.
Below is a chart depicting the estimated cost per warranted kWh 1 cycle per day.

Below is a chart depicting the estimated cost per warranted kWh 1 cycle per day.
Top 10 kWh 1 cycle per day:
- Amperus Super Lithium $ 0.19
- Telsa Powerwall 2 (DC) $0.21
- Telsa Powerwall 2 (AC) $0.23
- GCL E-KwBe $0.30
- DCS PV $0.32
- LG Chem Resu 10 $0.33
- Redflow $0.35
- LG Chem Resu 6.5 $0.37
- BMZ ESS 3 $0.39
- Enpahse AC Battery $0.48
One will also need to figure out how many of the Powerwall batteries they will need to support the system. For instance if you are looking to add a battery to your current system that powers all the appliances and electronics in your home then one would probably need roughly 3 to 5 batteries to for the average sized house to stay completely off the utility grid. Again this amount will vary depending upon your electric energy use. I know in my house with all my kids and their electronic toys monitors etc. that I will be on the higher side of the range of batteries needed to support my system. On the other hand the grand parents would need less. One would also have to take into account if you are just adding one Powerwall to the system just for emergency use in case the utility lines go down. It all depends on what your end goal is here. So if you are thinking about adding the battery to your system and need to figure what the Tesla Powerwall Price will be then call a local electrician or your solar system company and have them come out and give you an estimate. Just know what your end goal is so they don't up sell you.
